Lukashenko sends National Day greetings to Qatar

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and Deputy Emir of Qatar Abdullah bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and the people of Qatar as the country celebrates National Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The head of state noted that Qatar, like Belarus, uses all opportunities and resources to help achieve peace and harmony in the world. “Doha has become one of the main platforms to settle regional crises and establish communication between various political forces,” reads the message of congratulations to the Emir of the State of Qatar.

The president expressed gratitude for the assistance provided to Belarusian citizens during the evacuation from the Gaza Strip.

“We highly value our friendly relations with Qatar, we strive to expand interaction across the board and find more areas of common interest,” the Belarusian leader emphasized. “I reaffirm Minsk's readiness to scale up cooperation with Doha in politics, trade, economy, logistics, finances, investment and other areas and I hope that you will support these efforts,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

In his message to Abdullah bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Belarusian president praised Qatar's progress to improve the living standards of its people, achieve sustainable growth and strengthen its role as an important regional and international player. “Belarus supports your state's commitment for a peaceful resolution of crises in the Middle East, as well as your efforts to establish an effective dialogue between different countries of the Global South and the Global North,” the president noted.
