Order of Mother bestowed upon 77 Belarusians
On 23 December Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No. 470 to award the Order of Mother, BelTA learned from the press service of the head of state.
The women were awarded for giving birth and raising five or more children. The awardees come from various walks of life. They work in the manufacturing sector, agriculture, construction, social security sector, banking sector, pharmaceutics, trade and communications, education, healthcare, culture and sports, some of them are individual entrepreneurs and housewives.
Among those awarded are a school teacher from Vitebsk District Yulia Dukhovich, confectioner from Brest Darya Vasilyuk, chairperson of the board of a housing consumer cooperative from Brest Yulia Mitsyuk, banking worker from Vitebsk Oblast Olga Yevseyeva, chief custodian of the funds of the Center for History and Culture of the Oktyabrsky District Natalya Vasilenko, plasterer at Mozyr House-Building Plant Yekaterina Pikuza, pediatrician, children's rehabilitation physician from Volkovysk Natalya Vecher, cook from Kletsk District Yelena Zhukovskaya, plastics foundry worker from Molodechno District Lilia Panchenko.
All in all, 77 residents of Brest Oblast, Vitebsk Oblast, Gomel Oblast, Grodno Oblast and Minsk Oblast were awarded the Order of Mother.
