Belarus and Colombia have concluded an intergovernmental agreement on the mutual abolition of visas for short-term trips. The document was signed by Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yevgeny Shestakov and Ambassador of Colombia to Russia and Belarus (non-resident) Héctor Arenas Neira in Moscow on 9 April, BelTA has learned.
“This is a very significant step in our relations. I have a high regard for your country,” Yevgeny Shestakov said addressing the Colombian diplomat.
The deputy minister added that the agreement will come into force in 30 days.
“This is a major step toward strengthening our bilateral relations. The visa waiver agreement will enable citizens of the two countries to travel to the other country for tourism or business [without a visa], which will help intensify our relations in all areas,” Ambassador Héctor Arenas Neira emphasized.
