Belarus' consul general sees Great Victory as valuable lesson for future generations

The Consulate General of Belarus in Dubai hosted an event to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Belarusian Embassy in the UAE told BelTA.

The event brought together representatives of diplomatic missions, local residents and the Belarusian diaspora living in the UAE. The visitors were shown the film Brest Fortress. It was adapted for an Arabic-speaking audience thanks to students from the Faculty of International Relations of Belarusian State University.

"The screening of the film resonated deeply with viewers, many of whom saw historical footage of the Great Patriotic War for the first time through the lens of the heroic defense of Brest Fortress," the embassy stated. "This event was a vivid example of how traditions and modern communication formats can unite people of different cultures around the values of peace and respect for the heroism of past generations."

During the event, Consul General of Belarus in Dubai Aleksei Zhaldybin emphasized: "The memory of the Great Victory is not only a tribute to the heroes of the past but also an important lesson for future generations about the value of peace and unity."
