VITEBSK, 12 September (BelTA) – Rector of the Vitebsk State Medical University Valery Deikalo has been awarded the Winged Lion international order, BelTA has learned. The award was instituted by the International League for the Development of Science, Education, Culture and Sport. When presenting the award, President of the organization Anatoly Yezhov said that the organization decided to praise the contribution of Valery Deikalo and the university’s staff to the development of medical and pedagogical sciences. Laureates of the Winged Lion international order were former President of the USSR Mikhail Gorbachev, economist Nikolai Petrakov and others. Valery Deikalo said that the award will help strengthen cooperation with the counterparts from other countries and raise the prestige of the university.
