Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has concluded his visit to China, which lasted several days, BelTA has learned.

The president took part in the meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State and in the SCO Plus session in Tianjin on 31 August-1 September. The summit was the largest in the history of the organization, bringing together around 30 leaders of countries and integration structures.
In his speeches, Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized that membership in the SCO is a strategic choice for Belarus. He outlined the key issues for the SCO as an element of the new international order, stressed the importance of creating a unified scientific and innovation space within SCO, and the need for a SCO independent financial mechanism, and expressed support for China’s initiative on global governance. The president of Belarus named five priorities for the SCO family: multilateralism, security, sustainable development as the foundation of the stability in the region, food security, and industrial and scientific development.
