Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated active and retired employees of Belarus’ diplomatic service on their professional holiday, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“The people have entrusted you with an important and honorable mission – to represent the Fatherland and to professionally defend national interests primarily through meaningful achievements and important foreign policy initiatives,” the message of congratulations reads.

The head of state noted that the struggle for people’s minds, markets and resources is now unfolding on all continents. “Under these conditions, diplomats need to take it up a notch and focus on achieving solid results. Competence and patriotism of literally each of you are of particular importance,” the Belarusian leader emphasized.

The president expressed confidence that diplomats will continue to do everything to strengthen the international standing of Belarus, build and expand trade and humanitarian ties, maintain relations with foreign partners based on the principles of equality and justice in the best interests of their country and its residents.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished active and retired employees of Belarus’ diplomatic service good health, peace and success in serving their Motherland.
