Belarus attends EAG session in China
The Eurasian group on combating money laundering and financing of terrorism (EAG) kicked off its 39th plenary session in Sanya, China on 4 December.
The Belarusian delegation is headed by Director of the Financial Monitoring Department of the State Control Committee Vyacheslav Reut, BelTA learned from the State Control Committee.
The participants of the session are set to consider reports on the progress of the “anti-money laundering” systems of the Russian Federation and Kyrgyzstan with the revision of ratings, adopt the EAG strategy for 2024-2028 and solve a number of other important issues in combating money laundering, financing of terrorism and weapons of mass destruction.
The election of the EAG chairman for the next biennium will be an important issue on the agenda. The EAG plenary week will also feature a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units.
