Belarus, Serbia discuss people-to-people diplomacy, cooperation in culture
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Serbia Valery Brylev met with Professor of History Radmila Tonkovic and activist of the Serbian-Belarusian Friendship Society Zorica Peles, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Serbia.
The parties discussed the development and strengthening of people-to-people diplomacy, cooperation in culture, science and education. Special attention was paid to the preservation of historical heritage and maintenance of World War II monuments in Serbia.
Ambassador Valery Brylev noted that the Embassy takes care of several monuments to the Red Army soldiers from Belarus, among them Hero of the Soviet Union Vladimir Gushcha.
The professor gifted the Embassy her monograph on outstanding female pilots - Heroes of the Soviet Union and the book on the sacrifices of the Serbian people in the 20th century.
