Belarus' vice premier: 2nd CIS Games will meet world standards
At the 2nd CIS Games athletes will be provided with everything they need according to the best world standards, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko told the media as he visited sports facilities in Molodechno on 4 May, BelTA has learned.
“We are now doing inspection work to check the infrastructure for the 2nd CIS Games. The Games will be hosted by Minsk and other Belarusian cities. Sports competitions will be held in three cities of Minsk Oblast. For example, Molodechno will host a beach volleyball tournament. The preparations of the sports facilities will include the installation of a new coating, renovations of stands, locker rooms for teams and other necessary infrastructure. During the 2nd CIS Games athletes will be provided with everything they need according to the best world standards,” Igor Petrishenko said. He stressed that Soligorsk and Borisov are also set to host the competitions in Minsk Oblast.
“Each regional center will host a particular sport event. For example, handball and swimming competitions are planned in Brest, weightlifting and futsal - in Grodno. The main events will take place in the Belarusian capital,” the deputy prime minister said.
