Belarusian youth to speak to Shenzhou 15 spaceflight crew
On 20 April the Belarusian youth is expected to take part in the Dialogue Between the Sky and the Earth - the dialogue between the SCO youth and the crew members of the Shenzhou-15 spaceship, BelTA learned from official representative of the BRSM Central Committee, international protocol head Olesya Sazankova.
The event is organized by the Chinese Committee on Good Neighborhood, Friendship and Cooperation, China Manned Space Agency, All-China Youth Federation, Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Foundation, SCO Secretariat and SCO Youth Council Secretariat to popularize space science and technology, promote of international friendship and practical cooperation.
“The dialogue will take place in a hybrid format at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing, as well as in ten online conference rooms in Belarus, Russia, India, Iran, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and fourteen online classrooms located in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Cambodia, Egypt, Kuwait, Nepal, Maldives, Myanmar, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, Sri Lanka, and the UAE. Our room will be located in Minsk in the youth creative space of the National Youth House. Communicating with members of the crew of the Shenzhou-15 spaceship will be leaders and active participants of the BRSM Youth Union (school and university students, participants of the Youth Union projects). In addition, representatives of the embassies of China and Russia have been invited to the Belarusian conference room,” Olesya Sazankova said.
According to her, the dialogue will start at 9:30 and will last two and a half hours. “Belarusian nationals have already flown into space three times. Pilot-cosmonaut, twice Hero of the Soviet Union Piotr Klimuk was the first Belarusian to visit the orbit in 1973. The spacesuit he presented to our organization is kept in the Museum of Komsomol and Youth Movement of Belarus at the National Youth House,” the official representative of the BRSM Central Committee added. “One of the participants of the event, deputy chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, junior researcher Maksim Kuchvalsky is planning to ask the crew of the Shenzhou 15 spacecraft to send their wishes to the new team of cosmonauts that are currently training,” she said.
The BRSM Youth Union and the All-China Youth Federation have been developing cooperation since 2011. The parties implement information exchange programs, youth entrepreneurship and other cooperation events. The BRSM Youth Union and the All-China Youth Federation, in addition to bilateral cooperation, work on the sidelines of the SCO and BRICS Youth Councils. The BRSM Youth Union is a partner organization in the SCO Youth Council for dialogue on youth policy.
