Date set for new forum of Union State of Belarus, Russia
We have set the date for one of the five new events of the Union State - the forum "Russia and Belarus: Shared History, Shared Destiny", Director of the Institute of History at the National Academy of Sciences Vadim Lakiza said during the Moscow-Minsk videoconference "Joint activities of Belarus and Russia to perpetuate the memory of those who died defending the Fatherland", BelTA has learned.
Vadim Lakiza noted that the Institute of History is now working on the organization of the forum. "It will be held in late March - early April. On the Belarusian side, the coordinator is the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences, and on the Russian side it is the Ministry of Education and the Institute of Russian History at the Russian Academy of Sciences. When we discussed the venues we thought it would be good to co-locate it with the forum dedicated to the efforts to perpetuate the memory of those who died defending the Fatherland as we want to highlight practical measures in this direction," he said.
The Union State will run five new events in 2023: the cultural and educational patriotic project "The Memory Train", "Union State celebrates the Kupala Day", the historical and legal project "The Future of Law and Order" for children of employees of the internal affairs bodies of Belarus and Russia, the forum "Russia and Belarus: Shared History, Shared Destiny” and a forum of engineering and technical universities. Two of these events will be held in Belarus.
