Education bill passes first reading in Belarus

The bill “On amendments to education laws” passed the first reading at the ninth session of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the seventh convocation, BelTA has learned.

The bill was submitted to the House of Representatives by the Council of Ministers. It is designed to bring legislative acts into line with Law No. 154-Z “On Amending the Education Code of the Republic of Belarus” as of 14 January 2022. The bill deals with public relations regarding education regulations.

The document was presented at the Oval Hall by Education Minister Andrei Ivanets. “The bill was prepared jointly with interested state bodies and it seeks to implement the regulatory requirements of Article 5 of the law of 14 January 2022. Amendments and additions are to be introduced to 20 laws and two codes of the Republic of Belarus,” the minister said.

According to him, the implementation of the bill will not require additional financial resources.
