Mound of Glory Memorial Complex near Minsk to be renovated by 3 July
The renovation of the Mound of Glory Memorial Complex near Minsk will be completed by 3 July, BelTA learned from the Minskstroi construction association.
Minskzhelezobeton, one of the enterprises of the association, has a responsible mission - to supply more than 7,000 square meters of tiles of two types and four colors, 1,500 linear meters of curb stones. “This is not the first time the enterprise has taken part in the reconstruction of war memorials in Belarus: special granite-like tiles were sent to Khatyn last year,” said the construction association.
The Mound of Glory Memorial Complex commemorates Soviet liberators who freed the country from Nazi invaders. It was built in 1969. The complex consists of a 35.6 meter high hill crowned by a sculptural composition of four bayonets, which makes the overall complex 70.6 meters high. The first renovation of the memorial was carried out in 2004.
