Negotiations on forming EAEU common energy markets held in Minsk
Belarus' Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich and Energy Minister Aleksei Kushnarenko held a working meeting with Member of the Board – Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Arzybek Kozhoshev in Minsk on 9 September, BelTA learned from the EEC press service.
"During the negotiations the parties discussed topical issues of forming EAEU common energy markets, including the status of international agreements on forming the common markets for natural gas, oil and petroleum products," the press service said.
The parties emphasized the need to continue the dialog on sensitive issues and finding mutually acceptable solutions for further consideration at meetings of the Union State bodies.
"Approval of draft agreements depends on reaching consensus on the fundamental aspects of market formation by the parties," Arzybek Kozhoshev pointed out.
During the meeting the parties also discussed common areas of cooperation between the EAEU member states in energy sector.
