Together for Strong and Prosperous Belarus project gathers students from Belarus, Russia

Together for a Strong and Prosperous Belarus! Forum has brought together 350 students from Belarus and Russia, BelTA learned from Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno.

“Grodno is hosting the final events of the civil patriotic marathon “Together for a Strong and Prosperous Belarus. Taking part in it are about 350 representatives from 18 higher educational institutions and colleges of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation. The project kicked off in 2015 as a university marathon in honor of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. In 2018 it received the status of a national event and is held by Yanka Kupala State University with the support of the Education Ministry of Belarus. This year the event has become international,” representatives of the Grodno university said.

Universities of Grodno, Brest, Vitebsk, Minsk, Pskov, and Tula are taking part in the final events of the marathon. Students of colleges from Gomel, Vitebsk, Grodno, Maryina Gorka, Minsk, Mogilev, and Pinsk have also joined the event.

“The program of the final events includes a wide range of intellectual, creative, military and sports competitions, which are combined into four nominations - Youth. Initiative. Future, Experts of Native Land, Together - in Defense of Life, Morality and Family Values and Ready to Defend the Fatherland. The results of the marathon will be summarized on 5 May. The program of this day will also include a meeting with a wreath-laying ceremony at the monument to the soldiers-liberators of Grodno and a closing ceremony at the stadium of the Grodno Oblast Olympic Reserve Center,” representatives of the university said.

The civil and patriotic marathon Together for a Strong and Prosperous Belarus! project has been awarded a grant of the President of the Republic of Belarus. The corresponding decree was signed by head of state Aleksandr Lukashenko on 30 December 2022. The project is aimed at fostering an active civic stand and patriotism among the youth, as well as at promoting family values and healthy lifestyle.
