Winter rapeseed harvesting complete in Belarus
Over 4.8 million tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, has been threshed in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 30 July, 4.845 million tonnes of grain (including rapeseed) was harvested, which includes 3.816 million tonnes of cereals and leguminous crops and 1.029 million tonnes of winter rapeseed.
The regional breakdown is the following: Minsk Oblast harvested 1,237,900 tonnes of grain (including rapeseed), Brest Oblast – 1,162,300 tonnes, Grodno Oblast – 1,066,600 tonnes, Gomel Oblast - 538,000 tonnes, Mogilev Oblast - 504,000 tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast - 338,500 tonnes.
As to other crops, 74.7% of spring barley was harvested, 65.5% of winter rye, 50.3% of wheat, 41.4% of triticale, 34.7% of legumes, and 41.9% of oats. All oblasts have completed harvesting winter barley.
Meanwhile, flax was pulled from 31,600 hectares, which is 70.7% of the area under this crop.
Grain and legumes straw was collected from 46.8% of cut fields.
A total of 3,417,800 tonnes of grass fodder have been harvested (34.8% of the plan).
Farmers are stepping up efforts to apply organic fertilizers. All in all, 12.1 million tonnes of fertilizers (89.3% of the target) were placed on the fields in the run-up to winter crops planting time, 2.19 million tonnes (16.2%) of fertilizers have already been applied.
