Belarusian government urged to solve accounts receivable problem
The government and the National Bank must solve the problem of receivables, especially for Belarusian potash fertilizers, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a meeting to discuss promotion of Belarusian export on 3 October, BelTA has learned.
"I would also like to hear a report on the situation on the potash market especially with regard to receivables for mineral fertilizers and potash fertilizers supplied," Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
In addition to potash fertilizers, Belarus produces nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers. In this regard, the head of state recalled that there were proposals to set up a single company to promote their sales. But the topic did not get off the ground.
"The idea did not get traction in the government. Something always gets in our way. In your way and probably someone else's. But we need to press forward especially in terms of export promotion," the president emphasized. “We have learned to produce everything. Moreover, we produce goods in huge quantities that do not correspond to the size and economy of our country. We know how to sell, but some people are simply not willing to work or always have something in their way. Today it will be the last time we discuss the sale of our goods."
"As for accounts receivable, this matter is crucial. Please stop citing the reasons such as problems with receiving payments or something else. We have more than one thousand employees in the National Bank and related structures. So let's get the job done if you can. This topic must be settled and taken off the agenda," the head of state said.
