Decree signed to regulate insurance of Belarusian vehicles outside Green Card system
Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed decree No.240 on international insurance of automobiles on 31 July, BelTA has learned.
The document is designed to regulate the insurance of the civil liability of owners of vehicles if they leave Belarus and drive into a foreign country after Belarus' withdrawal from the international insurance system Green Card.
In line with the decree Belarusian motorists no longer have to produce Green Card insurance certificates when they leave Belarus' territory.
The Belarusian Transport Insurance Bureau has been authorized to participate in international insurance systems other than the Green Card system on behalf of Belarus' and to sign agreements on cooperation in mandatory insurance of the civil liability of owners of means of transportation.
