Lukashenko announces plans to convene Supreme State Council of Union State in December
Plans are in place to hold a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov in Minsk on 28 October, BelTA has learned.
"A lot depends on your visit. I know it. President Putin and I talked about this and are waiting for the Russian government to make some decisions in the wake of your visit to Belarus. If there are any questions to the presidents, they can be resolved in the near future," Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
In this regard, he noted that the Supreme State Council of the Union State is going to convene for a meeting on 5 December. "Therefore, we need to dot all the i's. So that we have clear plans in terms of cooperation between Belarus and Russia next year and subsequent years," the Belarusian leader concluded.
