Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko laid a wreath at the Independence Monument in Tashkent during his official visit to Uzbekistan on 8 February, BelTA has learned.
The monument is located in the New Uzbekistan Park, which was opened on 31 August 2021 to mark the 30th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence. The monument is a 60-meter stele, crowned by the Humo bird of happiness - a symbol of peace, prosperity and freedom.
At the base and around the stele are the most important historical events depicting the 3000-year history of the country. Just behind the stele there is a small musical fountain and an amphitheater for 5,000 people.
