Lukashenko: Minsk Oblast is a miniature version of Belarus
Minsk Oblast is a miniature version of Belarus, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the regional stage of the Dazhynki harvest festival in Volozhin on 19 October, BelTA has learned.
“In line with a long-standing tradition established at the dawn of independent Belarus, we have gathered together to acknowledge and reward villagers for their work and to present well-deserved awards to our heroes. Minsk Oblast is an unusual region. It is the geographical center of the country. Its lands are located in all physical and geographical zones of the republic, including Polesie and Poozerie,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
The president noted that Minsk Oblast is like Belarus in miniature. As far as agriculture is concerned, they know the fertility potential of their soils, the peculiarities of all fields and skillfully use this knowledge.
Minsk Oblast is home to Lake Naroch and the Narochansky National Park, the Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve, the highest point of the republic - Mount Dzerzhinskaya, and Soligorsk District that has 20% of the world's potassium reserves. And this is only a small part of the region's natural resources, the head of state noted.
