Lukashenko sends Freedom Day greetings to South Africa

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa as the country celebrates Freedom Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Belarus used to consistently support the people of Africa in overcoming apartheid at international platforms. Today together we are striving to establish a just world order based on friendship, trust and respect for the UN Charter and international law. On the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries, it is especially pleasant to note that we can take bilateral cooperation to a new level,” the message of greetings reads.

The president confirmed interest in further development of contacts with South Africa in a wide range of areas, particularly in industrial cooperation with a focus on agriculture, information and communication technologies, food security, education, mother and child protection.

Taking the opportunity, Aleksandr Lukashenko invited Cyril Ramaphosa to visit Belarus in order to give a new impetus to the cooperation between the two countries. He also wished him good health and fruitful political activity, as well as harmony and progress to the friendly people of South Africa.
