Lukashenko sends greetings to participants of international conference on constitutional supremacy
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to the participants of the international conference “Supremacy of the Constitution: Constitutional amendments and development of constitutional control”, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The head of state highlighted the symbolism behind holding such a big forum in the year when Belarus marks the 30th anniversary of its Constitution.
“Amid global challenges and transformations, the fundamental law of our country remains the legal foundation for the development of Belarus’ statehood, it safeguards rights and freedoms of our citizens. The Constitution was largely shaped by people’s choices in favor of true democracy, historical truth, spiritual and moral guidelines that were made during referendums,” the message of greetings reads.
The key role of the fundamental law in the system of normative legal acts has prompted the creation in Belarus of an institution of constitutional control, which also marks its 30th anniversary this year, the president noted.
“Throughout its history, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus has made a significant contribution to the protection of the state system, law and order, and social justice,” the Belarusian leader emphasized.
The president wished the participants of the forum fruitful work, inexhaustible energy, peace and goodness.
