Lukashenko sends Independence Day greetings to Sri Lanka
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to President Ranil Wickremesinghe of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka as the country celebrates Independence Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
“Despite the recent challenges, Sri Lanka is gradually recovering from the economic crisis and implementing plans for the country's social and sustainable development,” the message of greetings reads.
According to the head of state, Belarus and Sri Lanka enjoy warm and constructive relations, increase mutual trade, expand business ties. The number of Sri Lankan students studying in Belarusian higher educational institutions is increasing.
“I am convinced that this year we will find ways to intensify political dialogue, interaction in such sectors as agriculture, engineering, science and technology, pharmaceuticals, as well as in food supplies,” the president emphasized.
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished good health, happiness and success to Ranil Wickremesinghe and his relatives, as well as peace and prosperity to the people of Sri Lanka.
