A total of 3.49 million tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, has been harvested in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 23 July, Belarus harvested 3,492 million tonnes of grain, including rapeseed. Of them 2.563 million tonnes are cereals and leguminous crops and 929,000 tonnes are winter rapeseed. Gomel Oblast and Brest Oblast have finished harvesting winter rapeseed. The harvesting progress in the country is the following: Brest Oblast harvested 946,600 tonnes of grain (including rapeseed), Minsk Oblast 835,500 tonnes, Grodno Oblast 813,200 tonnes, Gomel Oblast – 396,100 tonnes, Mogilev Oblast – 322,000 tonnes and Vitebsk Oblast 178,500 tonnes.
As to other crops, 67% of spring barley was harvested, 44% of winter rye, 27.5% of wheat, 22% of triticale, 18.2% of legumes, and 14.4% of oats. All oblasts have completed harvesting winter barley.
Meanwhile, flax was pulled from 23,800 hectares, which is 53.2% of the area under this crop.
Grain and legumes straw was collected from 43.9% of cut fields. A total of 3.306 million tonnes of grass feed was harvested (33.7% of the plan).
Farmers are stepping up efforts to apply organic fertilizers. All in all, 11.7 million tonnes of fertilizers (88.7% of the target) were placed on the fields in the run-up to sowing winter crops, 2.902 million tonnes (15.3%) of fertilizers have already been applied.
