Belarusian Baranovichi has twinned with Russia's Kuznetsk (Penza Oblast), BelTA has learned.
The twinning agreement was signed on 21 June. The cities will build ties on the principle of partnership and mutual trust. The agreement was signed by Baranovichi Mayor Yuri Gromakovsky and Head of Kuznetsk Administration Sergei Zlatogorsky.
The document provides for assistance in establishing contacts between business entities of the two countries. Special attention is given to cooperation and implementation of joint projects in industry, construction, transport system, municipal services, information technologies and innovations, small business. The parties agreed to exchange delegations, work together on scientific projects, hold seminars and conferences, cultural and sports events. Baranovichi and Kuznetsk also intend to develop contacts in tourism.
The delegation of Penza Oblast laid flowers at the monument to soldiers and partisans who liberated Baranovichi from the Nazis. The Russian representatives also visited the museum of people's unity.
Baranovichi has more than 20 twin cities. Eight of them is Russia.
