The holding companies affiliated with the Industry Ministry should update their export strategies as soon as possible, Belarusian Industry Minister Aleksandr Yefimov said at an ad hoc meeting, BelTA learned from the press service of the ministry.
This work is currently on the home stretch. The updated documents envisage, first of all, ways of increasing exports through diversification of sales markets, with a focus on the countries of the geographically distant markets.
According to the estimates, the exports by companies affiliated with the Industry Ministry to distant markets are projected to rise by more than 10% in January-June.
"The achievement of the economic sovereignty and increasing its resilience to external challenges largely depend on a balanced foreign trade policy. Exports remain the most important source of economic growth. Therefore, the updated strategies should be a real working mechanism with an actual plan of concrete actions. The holding companies have the potential for this," the minister noted.
