Sales of new cars in Belarus rose almost 2.5 times in the first half of the year, First Deputy Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Ivan Vezhnovets told BelTA.
“The first half of the year saw a drastic increase in sales of new passenger cars in Belarus. The sales have grown almost 2.5 times over the same period last year. More than 10,000 new passenger cars were sold,” said the first deputy minister. “This is a very good trend for the automobile market. I expect a significant growth by the end of the year. Plus, new care models have been launched this year. It will be another powerful impetus for people to purchase new cars.”
There are many factors that contributed to the growth in sales. Among them is the increase in household income in the last few years, the availability of new brands, as well as a number of lending mechanisms.
