Minsk Oblast has joined the campaign of providing assistance to Belarusians and members of their families, who came from the Gaza Strip this night, BelTA learned from the Labor, Employment, and Social Protection Committee of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.
The committee's Chairwoman Tamara Krasovskaya said: “When we received information that an aircraft carrying Belarusians and members of their families from the Gaza Strip is arriving today, we immediately decided to respond and provide the necessary aid.”
In her words, one family will leave for the town of Stolbtsy where relatives will organize accommodation.
“Another family of 14 people, including one pregnant woman, has left for the town of Volozhin. The Volozhin territorial center for social services will help the family with accommodation. The center has everything necessary for a comfortable stay. Food, warm clothes, and personal hygiene goods – the people will get all of them as well. We, Belarusians are accustomed to helping those in distress,” Tamara Krasovskaya remarked.
BelTA reported earlier that on 16 November the Belarusian flag carrier Belavia dispatched a humanitarian flight to pick up Belarusians and members of their families. It had medics and psychologists from the Emergencies Ministry's special operations unit Zubr on board. Upon arrival they provided the necessary aid both to adults and children. The aircraft successfully landed in Minsk this night.
