Belarus and Uzbekistan have developed fruitful cooperation in absolutely all areas, Chair of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly Natalya Kochanova told journalists, BelTA has learned.

The parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by Chairwoman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva is on an official visit to Belarus at the invitation of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus. The first Belarus-Uzbekistan Women's Business Forum is taking place during the visit. Six breakout sessions were held on 5 September: “Expansion of Belarus-Uzbekistan cooperation in manufacturing”, “Promising avenues of cooperation in light industry”, “Building closer partnerships between agro-industrial complexes of Belarus and Uzbekistan”, “Healthcare and pharmaceutics - promising areas of cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Uzbekistan”, “Academic partnerships”, “Contacts in culture and tourism”.

“Quite a lot of entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan have come to Belarus - more than 100 people. We expect these events to be held at a rather high level, as always. The first day showed a sincere interest in scaling up bilateral cooperation. And this cooperation is really successful in absolutely all areas: economy, humanitarian sphere. Inter-parliamentary contacts are also very important for us. We agreed that this official visit will be co-located with important events that will benefit our countries and peoples,” Natalya Kochanova said.

The highlight of the business forum on 6 September will be a plenary session “Women entrepreneurs - the potential for developing business contacts between Belarus and Uzbekistan”.

The forum was organized by the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus.
