A tourist gathering of the Union State students will be held in Orsha District on 10-16 September, BelTA learned from the Orsha District Executive Committee.
"Taking part in the event will be more than 450 students – eight teams from Belarus and representatives of 32 Russian regions, including Kursk Oblast, Samara, the Mari El Republic and others," noted Sergei Gvozdev, the director of the Orsha District Center of Physical Education, Tourism and Local Studies among Children and the Youth.
A camp site will be set up on a meadow near the village Zvezdnaya on the Dnieper bank. Young people will compete in orienteering, short- and long-distance hiking (in teams and individually). The program will also include creative competitions, a contest among young local historians, competitions in football, volleyball, and bicycle touring.
This year's tourist event will be the 11th student meeting. Vitebsk Oblast will host young tourists of the Union State for the second time.
