Over 100 Lithuanian businessmen and about 20 representatives of the Lithuanian local authorities confirmed their participation in the 14th Belarusian-Lithuanian Economic Forum in Vitebsk on 7-8 June, BelTA learned from the organizing committee of the forum.
The Lithuanian delegation will comprise representatives of the local authorities, the Lithuanian embassy in Belarus, business associations and companies of the light industry, woodworking, transport and logistics, finances and trade. Speakers and discussions will focus on trade, economic, investment and interregional cooperation between Belarus and Lithuania, including the potential of FEZ Vitebsk.
The forum will kick off with a plenary session featuring representatives of the governments of the two countries, the diplomatic corps, and the Vitebsk Oblast authorities. The plenary session will then be divided into sections Cooperation in the Light Industry and Interregional Cooperation. The program will also include a business matchmaking session. The second day of the forum will be devoted to the regional features in the development of cities and districts of Vitebsk Oblast, visits to local enterprises of light industry, woodworking, agriculture and other branches.
Belarusian-Lithuanian economic forums are held annually in Belarus and Lithuania in turns to develop and enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various areas, strengthen and seek new business contacts between industry associations and companies of the two countries, expand interregional cooperation, present the economic potential of the leading producers. The general partner of the 14th Belarusian-Lithuanian Economic Forum is VMG Holdings LTD, a woodworking company that unites several enterprises in Lithuania, Belarus and Ukraine.
