The world famous Vologda lace may go on display during the Day of the Belarus-Russia Union State during the Slavianski Bazaar festival in Vitebsk, State Secretary of the Belarus-Russia Union State Grigory Rapota told the media, BelTA has learned.
Plans are in place to organize a workshop in lace making by Vologda lace masters and to arrange a catwalk show of the apparel made from Vologda lace and Orsha linen fabrics.
The Union State Standing Committee is going to offer this idea to Russia's Vologda Oblast Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov and to invite him to attend the Day of the Belarus-Russia Union State in Vitebsk.
The Belarusian and Russian journalists had a meeting with Grigory Rapota during the expert and media tour "Dacha Chaika of the artist Vitold Byalynitsky-Birulya" organized by the Standing Committee of the Union State and the Rossiya Segodnya information agency. During the tour the dacha Chaika hosted the roundtable meeting "Byalynitsky-Birulya – the cultural and historical phenomenon of the two nations". It was attended by State Secretary of the Belarus-Russia Union State Grigory Rapota, Director of Belarus' National Art Museum Vladimir Prokoptsov, Belarusian and Russian museum professionals.
