Student brigades of Vitebsk Oblast foster cooperation with Beloyarsky District (Russia), BelTA learned from the BRSM Youth Union regional committee.
"In 2016 our student brigade went to Beloyarsky District of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra for the first time. This was the result of the agreement on establishing twin-city relations between Vitebsk and Beloyarsky District signed in 2016. The students took part in the construction of a residential house. The Russian employer was happy with the quality of their work and invited 14 students of the student construction brigade Yermak to work in the district capital from 1 June till 30 August 2017. The results of their work showed that we aim for long-term cooperation. The commendations that the student brigade received proved that our partners are also interested in this cooperation," said Victoria Kuzheleva, commissioner of the Vitebsk Oblast Office for Student Brigades.
According to chief of the Yermak student brigade Evgeny Dyatlovsky, the brigade was composed of students of the Vitebsk colleges training professionals for the construction industry. They were engaged in the project to landscape the embankment. "This year the brigade had three people from previous year. I came here for the second time and I can tell you that the welcome was even better than last time. We also visited the children camp Miloserdie, spent a lot of time with kids and gave them gifts that we brought from Vitebsk. In between work we played football, volleyball and streetball with the teams from Beloyarsky. Next year we will come here to work at whatever objects they will offer us," Evgeny Dyatlovsky said.
This summer work semester 124 youths from Vitebsk Oblast worked outside Belarus as part of student summer work brigades. Most of them worked in the Russia children's center Orlyonok in Krasnodar Krai.
