As of 8 October, more than 1.289 million hectares of winter grain crops have been sown in Belarus, which makes 85% of the target, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
Belarusian farmers have prepared over 1.362 million hectares of soil for sowing winter grain crops, or 89.8% of the plan.
According to the Agriculture and Food Ministry, 5.55 million tonnes of organic fertilizers have been applied for winter sowing. Farmers have also applied 361,900 tonnes of mineral fertilizers (91.8%), including 62,700 tonnes of nitrogen fertilizers (125.6%), 60,000 tonnes of phosphorus fertilizers (50.1%) and 239,200 tonnes of potash fertilizers (106.5%). Autumn plowing have been completed on the area of 38,600 hectares (2.6% of the target).
