Belarus and Cuba discussed the prospects for bilateral military cooperation on 5 December, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Defense Ministry.
As BelTA reported earlier, Belarusian military delegation led by Major General Andrei Lukyanovich, Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense Troops is on a working visit to the Republic of Cuba. During the visit, the delegation had a working meeting with Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba Alvaro Lopez Miera and Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba Roberto Legra Sotolongo.
The parties discussed the state of affairs and prospects for further bilateral military cooperation, primarily in air force and air defense. The parties pointed out the common positions of Belarus and Cuba on key international security issues.
The Belarusian military delegation also toured an air defense brigade and one of the Revolutionary Armed Forces command posts.
