The BelGee project has potential for further development and deepening of manufacturing localization. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement as he met with Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang on 22 August, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “Thanks to your support our country’s dream has come true: we make our own BelGee cars on the basis of Geely cars. I am particularly grateful to you for that. This project would not have existed without you. I am convinced that this project has potential for further development, deepening, and manufacturing localization.”

In 2023 SZAO BelGee made over 67,300 cars, up from 25,100 in 2022. This year the company is expected to make 80,000 cars. The BelGee (BG) brand has been registered.

Since 2024 SZAO BelGee has been responsible for the brand, sales, marketing, distribution channels, logistics, and aftersales service of the X50 model on the markets of Belarus and Russia. The company has a license to make SX-11 crossovers under its own brand BG. The company intends to get a license to make two more models by 2026.
